PLACES TO VISIT
It is the highest point in Kasauli and is located just four kms from the Kasauli Bus stand. A picturesque view of the far-flung plains of Chandigarh region and the meandering river Satluj can be seen from this point. Also there is a small temple on the top of the hill, which is dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Sanawar is situated 6 km away from Kasauli at an altitude of the 1750 m. The place is known for the Lawrence School. The school is 150-year-old and is one of the best public schools in India. The school was founded by Sir Henry M. Lawrence and his wife Honoria. The school was honoured by the British Empire with the Kings of Colors in 1853.
A little ahead of Sunset Point, it is a famous trail. The path is easy to walk though you must keep caution for the jagged rocks. It offers various panoramic views of the hills. Dawn and Dusk is the best time to visit this place. You will feel the embrace of mother nature in its most beautiful way.
It is also a small cantonment sited at an altitude of 1,925m. It is situated at a distance of 19-km from Kasauli and is accessible by a link road, which diverts from Dharampur. Dagshai has a military public school and numerous military barracks. This place was the favorite haunt of the British families.
Still unspoilt and very much as the British left it fifty years ago, Kasauli has a fine old church. The Anglican structured church is sited near the bus stand. It was built by the British family who founded the town of Kasauli. The church is a beautifully built cross shaped. It is situated admidst a grove of chestnut and fir trees.
The temple is located 3 km away from Marvel Hills and is one amongst the famous temples of Sidh Baba Balak Nath Ji. There is a mythology that one night, Baba appeared in dreams of Vijay Kumar, a locale and asked him to build a temple at this place. There is also a belief that prayers of childless couples will be granted with a child, whose baptism ceremony is also performed here.
